Ran to Costco with Wiley
ust decided to kill three birds with one stone today and 1) Get a nice run in, 2) Get to Costco, and 3) Take my poor, neglected dog for a run before he drove me crazy. So Wiles and I went out with destination Costco. Roy was going to meet us there with a coupon I got from Sbux for bogo Paninis and we’d have lunch and then run into Costco and get our Sunday shopping done.
All went well. My ankle felt about 80% healed today, even better than yesterday. Some tightness, but nothing to write home about. We ran 10:1s and I worked on the command “hip” (which means “Return to my side” and I don’t say side because side means “Get on the sidewalk and off that person’s lawn, you heathen”) during the walk breaks. I think he’s about got it. He was the happiest dog EVAH when I snapped that leash on him and was a great sport the entire time.
Nothing exciting happened on the run. Just a mellow run listening to two episodes of “Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me” and to my thoughts.
Now I have newsletters to write, podcasts to record, an email requesting I become a writer for a website to ponder, and a recipe to send to another website…oh and have to make up tomorrow’s bootcamp workout as well! Whee! The fun never ends!

Marathon/Half Marathon Class
Fantastic run with this group too! My ankle was gimpy at the beginning, but by the end it felt great. I hope that means it’s on the healing side. Started with everyone after a great seminar and then ended up running most of it with Eric and Sarah. We talked (okay I talked) and talked. What another fun fun fun group. I am LOVING this. Why didn’t I become a running coach years ago?
Of course I could NOT do this without my amazing intern, Carrie, and my super de-dooper husband, Roy. They are my right and left hands!

5k Group Last Run
RUNgreat5k Group Longest Run Yet! – 3.54 mi / 00:40 11:17 pace
This was our “See, you can do it!” run of over 3 miles so no one is worried about the actual race. They did FANTASTIC! I am so proud of each and every ONE of them! It was awesome, too. At the end the last 8 or so people to come in got HUGE cheers from everyone else. My half/full marathon group was there and the rest of the 5k group waited. I did a little seminar on injuries and using self massage (the stick and foam roller). What a great last meeting for these guys! I’m going to miss them, but have had the request to run a 10k class! Woot!

Rest Day Walk with my Honey
Friday night walk…we used to always walk out to dinner Friday nights and I miss that, so after we saw Alice in Wonderland (wonderful, loved it) we came home and went for a walk together. He still can’t run and I have a long run tomorrow, so this was my rest.
Didn’t wog this morning because my back hurt SO bad when I woke up that I could hardly stand. It was fine within half an hour, but that was half hour after I reset the clock for another hour…ahem. Sorry Shelley!

Happy (kinda) Sun Run
My goodness what a TOUGH run! It wasn’t my ankle, either. It was just an overall feeling of heaviness and tiredness. Even stopped to walk a few times and was inexplicably hungry. Hmmm…however, the last 1.5 miles were lovely. The sun came out, I ran under some trees that were as beautiful as can be! If I felt better, I’d have gladly run another 4 miles, but decided that since my ankle is recovering I should go in and ice and eat a cookie. Cookies are very important in recovery.

Booty Busting Bootcamp
Bootcamp! Great bootcamp tonight, although it was small. (sniff) Really worked Seth’s butt off, though. We were ALL huffing and puffing by the end. Worked on hammies, glutes, hips (adductors and abductors) and then did two sets of stairs…or was it three? I forget.
Ankle didn’t feel too bad. Had to modify a few moves but I wore my brace and wasn’t too bad.
Really wanted a run before bootcamp, but decided to go really easy on the ankle until Saturday’s run, which should be about 11 or 12 miles between the two classes.
Oh Megan…I’m sending in my 50k form…ahem. SO ARE YOU!

Boot-ay Busting Bootcamp
Great bootcamp tonight! Had a few new faces, which is fun! And some “old” faces, too. Missed Teri and Vickey, though!
I think I sprained my ankle on our last trail run. It’s REALLY swollen tonight. Hmmm. Must rest it as best I can. I’ll wog (water jog) Wednesday and Friday and will do some hot yoga on Thursday. I’d like to bike tomorrow, but I think I have a class afterwards.
I’m icing right now. The pain isn’t bad, but I wasn’t able to jump rope on it today. I think it’s just a mild sprain.

Back Home and Running Long
Ahhhhh back home to run! Roy dropped me off at Starbucks and I had coffee with Laura, although I realized I was running WAY later than anticipated. I texted Megan and let her know. After coffee I ran to Everett and met Megan and Sarah at Legion Park where we finished up 8 miles together yapping and laughing the whole way. SO nice to run with friends on a Sunday morning. Weather was nice too, and Starbucks at the end was PARTICULARLY nice.

Yup…I ran along Rodeo Drive. Since we were close (my bro lives near) I decided to take a run to Starbucks and back in Beverly Hills. It was gorgeous, warm, beautiful, and peaceful. Plane back home tonight. What a trip!
