Run 1:10:23.87
Legs felt strong today! I’ve been having cranky ankle pain but it seemed to be fine today. I could feel it jabbering, but it wasn’t pain it was just “there”. Ran from work to chiropractor then back to Starbucks to grab a sandwich then go to a movie with my favorite Roy. Saw “Wolfman” which was not bad for a movie about a Wolfman. Good music, great effects, sort of predictable but better than I expected.
Stressing some since my mom is sick again. Hopefully it’ll be fine.
Pace was about a 9:30 every mile, but had to stop and wait a bit and take two phone calls.

Ran with Shelley and a bit before.
So five miles of speed work in the Newtons last night…not maybe a good idea. My ankle is really stiff today and I can totally feel it in my calf. (In fact I just had a SCREAMING charley horse that is still throbbing.) Oh well!
Parked where Shelley works and did about 2 miles before she met me and we then ran/walked 2.23 miles out to Narbeck Park. Gosh I love that place! It is SO beautiful!

Newton run
Speed workout on the track using my Newtons. I’m finally feeling the mid-foot strike much better. All miles under 10 min, even the ones where I threw in backwards running and stairs. Stopped a few times to lift some weights (didn’t factor that in) and other strength moves. Finished with sun salutation to stretch.

Booty Busting at its Best
Booty Busting Bootcamp! Teeny tiny class tonight, but I’m glad I did it. We started with a walk then jog, then did a 6 station circuit that focused on abs, obliques, jump rope (cardio), quads and glutes (squat walk with weights), hip abductors (bands), proprioception (agility ladder), glutes and proprio (backwards squat walk through cones). After two sessions, we went out for a run in the dark….back and did one more circuit, then finished up with some shoulders, triceps, walking plank, side plank, other side plank, supermans, pushups, 80 crunches, and finally the Sun Salutation. WHEW!

Run with Wiley
Not really feeling the love today, but I was glad I went. Wiley and I went out for a quick one because I had SO much to do before bootcamp tonight. Just a shake your legs out. Unfortunately they didn’t want to shake out very nicely. They just felt heavy and leaden.
Wiley had a great run, though! He was VERY happy to have me home and get outside. He greeted a few dogs and was a very good boy.

Stanley Park Seawall during the Olympics
I love Stanley Park. I especially love Stanley Park when it’s quiet and not as crowded. Today it was absolutely beautiful. I started my run after breakfasting with Roy at Starbucks on Robson and Richie in downtown Vancouver. Ran through a SEA of people already out in the Olympic “village” and down to the park. The first few miles weren’t awesome because I had a scone. I knew while eating the scone that it would sit heavy on my tummy, but I wanted the scone. Dumb dumb dumb. Fortunately as predicted, by mile three I was fine. Mile four the run became effortless. I had no idea how many miles I was going to run. Plan was just to run around the seawall until I ran out of Seawall or came to the city. Roy was going to check out of our hotel and meet me coming the other way.
At about mile six I realized that I wasn’t entirely sure where to meet him since there are paths that criss cross the park, so made a few stops for phone calls. We finally coordinated our coordinates and met up at Second Beach Pool. Walked to two miles back to the downtown Robson Square area.
What a wonderful, crazy weekend. I hated to come home last night, although I missed my babies IMMENSELY!
